View Full Version : Which Neu Motor?

I really like everything I have heard about neu motors but after looking at their website for 30 minutes I still had no idea which one would be right for the hurricane. I know it will be one of the 15xx series motors. I would like to have something capable of delivering 2000watts on 8 lipo cells but will work with the stock gearing on 6 cells for now. Does anyone know which model would work?

If you're running an HV setup you can use the 1910H/1.5Y (680KV). That's what I'm using in my 10S A123 setup (33V).

1910 requires modification to the existing linkage as it will not fit the space between them. I have not completed yet but here is a picture of Neu 1509H/2Y/F

It requires trimming around the motor on the canopy.

I can't comment on the performance as I have not flown it yet.

1910 requires modification to the existing linkage as it will not fit the space between them.

Correct if you're using anything other than the Custom Heli Parts CF frameset (which has a direct-to-swash configuration, eliminating the bellcranks). Even if you do use the CHP frame, you'll still need to mod the motor mount slightly to widen the screw slots -- the 1910 has larger diameter mounting screws. Here's what it looks like though:
