I currently use the Align RCE-6BX on my nitros with a 2S Lipo for RX power. I am building a 12S Lipo E620 and was wondering if I should do the same thing or purchase a High Voltage BEC and power the RX from the main batteries. The best High Voltage BEC that can handle 12S that I could find was the Western Robotics Hercules (handles up to 60V).
My concern is that the Hercules is rated for 3.5A while the RCE-6BX is rated at 6A. I am running 3 Futaba S9350 servos and a GY611 Gyro and a BLS251 servo on the tail. I am also using an HV85 ESC. Is 3.5A adequate for this setup (is the 6A setup on my other helis just overkill) ?
