Has anyone tried a cordless electric fuel pump? What batteries did you use and how is it working out?

http://www.rchover.com/inc/sdetail/124491

I see they are rated for 6v -12v, so can I put a small 2s lipo on it?

I can't take the hand crank fuel pump anymore, yes I know it doesn't take much energy but I want to make my life easier.

Thanks

Robert

LInk is not working, not unless you want to loose weight, :-)

Thanks

also i use a 12v jump box for power back up with a 400 watt voltage inverter so i can 12v or 110ac to run chargers

Robert I have been thinking the same - small elec pump with a little LiPo on it for power. I can't see why it wouldn't work

The Hobbico in the link is not cordless. See the cord with the black and red conenctor? :)

For grins and a cheaper, more long-lasting pump, hit the auto parts place and buy a winshield washer pump. (Look for the inline one with two nipples instead of the one with the big inlet for a tank/grommet)
Add a switch and an old Trex 3S battery and you have a fast filler for around $20.

Been using slimline sl2000 for 6 years now. Not 1 problem. Before I bought this I went through 4 cheap pumps. I power it off of a 10 cell 500mah nicad. I hang the battery off of the jug handle with velcro.

Thanks Guys including Pinecone, lol. I'm sure glad there are good people thinking alike.

fyi, just finish my 5th gallon ($120) since Nov 07, that's 50 flights at 12mins per flight, works out to be 10hrs. Didn't know I had that much spare time!!

Thanks

Robert

I just used Velcro to strap an old t-rex 3s pack to my pump. Works great. I use about 200mA each gallon.

Great idea but just one question, wouldnt the nitro chemical deteorerate the plastic components over time?

not any faster than the current electric pumps on the market IMO..
There are diagphragm type pumps that will last about 1 use, the one I linked to is a gear drive pump similar to what we use for hobby pumps.
