Does anyone know if the 36 is any good for more than a paper weight or a boat anchor. I have never hear too much good about this motor. I bought a used Raptor 30 on Ebay and it was listed with an OS 37, but showed up with a TT 36.

You may be lucky and get one of the better 36s. I had on that lasted several years and another that failed on the first day. They are rather tricky to set-up because the needles interact with each other more than they do on other motors. You will notice that if you have your top end running good and adjust the low end you will have to make an opposite correction to the top end.
