Futaba 9C Timer Question

Is there any way to increase the volume on the timer? When it goes off, I sometimes miss it because of background noise. If it was a little louder, it would be great. Any ideas?

I've read about people tearing into them and replacing the speaker but there is no simple volume control for it.
