I discussed this in another thread here and had rather different advice, so thanks for clearing that up.
the dyno-tron starter is a torque starter. i've used one to start a 5.8 cubic inch single cyl. engine on a 1/3 scale plank. it turned it over on 24v w/o any issues at all. a 6s pack on this starter against a .50 will snap or at least bend it very easily. This is the reason i use an older sullivan hi-torque 12v starter. Its enough to spin over my YS.91SR as long as the engine isn't hydrolocked. and this is with a 12v 7amp gellcell battery.

I was wondering how a 3s would cope, I figured that the lower rating would present much higher risk hence my coment about it needing to be a 5s. Probably less so in a lower power starter.

I would venture to say a lot of people use 6S because they have an older pack that is weak for flight use...so they use it on a starter instead. A bit lower voltage on a 6S pack will still start a heli......IMHO.

Ok not the starter it keeps hydrolocking, I clear it and put the plug back and it does it again. I am lost here, never had this problem before. Moved the fuel line up above the carb, removed pressure tap line in case its to much? still as soon as plug goes in and I try to start it its locked again. I just want to start and allow it to run a few minutes Its just now warm enough to try for a while.Needle is at 1 and 1/2 turn open and I have not touched the low end. Any thoughts

pulled pressure line off of mp5 thought to much back pressure still no good

Leave the plug in, but very loose. Put your igniter on it and once it fires, tighten with the igniter and follow with the plug wrench. Sounds like an oil based hydrolock as opposed to fuel.
