Anyone ever bought or used one of these? Are they any good?

They are really cheap!

I''m a newbie, so fill me in.

usually you get what you pay for with cheap lipos, but some people have had great luck with economy packs. bottom line (sorry finless) is if you decide to buy some of the cheaper packs, make sure the warranty on them is in writing or clearly advertised on the website- so if you have problems and it's likely you will you can get a refund or replacment.

Ive been using the 3s 2200 20c turborix packs for a while now, no problems at all so far, they seem to be very good packs, well worth the money in my opinion, I decided what the hell, i'll take the chance. I can buy twice as many batts for the same money compared to brand name, so twice as much flying time. But you pay your money you take your chance. I took the risk and with luck it paid off nicely.

i've also been hearing good things about the "zippy" brand packs from www.hobbycity.com (http://www.hobbycity.com) good prices and you do get a warranty. i'll be getting some of the 4000mah packs to test out along side of flightpower evo's. pretty pathetic that i can get four packs of zippys to one pack of evos for the same price.
