Well I bought a pro combo deal with a hyper 50, should be here tomorrow. Ok I plan to strip my raptor 30 electronics and put it on my trex. Tell me what part of my electronic system I should change, this gear and my raptor heli sat for roughly 2 3/4 years.

Futaba 9 CAP Radio with a Futaba PCM1024 R149DP Receiver
Futaba GY401 gyro with S9253 Servo
4 Futaba S3001 Servos Came With 9CAP(<<<Those might need recommendation for new ones plz, your thoughts?)
Futaba GV-1 Governor(2nd magnet sat for 2 3/4 years then mysteriously now its stuck on 97%)

I dont know what gave me the heli bug again and the feeling to fly, but I ended up reading about the trex, then I just sort of spur of the moment hit buy it now on ebay. Anyways should I look into optical sensors for my trex, cause this will be my 3rd gv1 sensor. I dont know much about opticals however.

I was planning to upgrade the tail grips, main grips, engine fan, header tank, clunk line(with my black haynes type). If I left out any other upgrade that I should do on my build please say so.

upgrade your servo's on the cyclic to a mid range digital (futaba 9252 / 9452 etc). tail rotor servo should be fine. The GV-1 w/ the magnetic style pickup sensor is fine.

as far as upgrades for the heli:

Frame stiffners
align metal fan
align metal blade grips
align metal mixing arms
align metal tail rotor pitch clider
OS Bubble-less clunk
Align 2n1

other than that. leave it as is and fly.

My other servos for the elevator should remain s3001, I seen the price for these and its very cheap, came with my 9cap
Mailman is bringing my kit today, ive no upgrades onhand though, ill see what I can build.

i highly suggest putting better servo's on the swash plate.. the 3001's aren't the best at centering in my experiences, and will make flying the heli a lil more tiresome compared to if you were to put some decent servo's on.

They're also pretty low on torque and speed for a .50 size heli in my opinion.

Put in some new cyclic servos. I recommend futaba 9452 servos.

Can I put the governor sensor after I secure frames to each other, and I got the Align 2 in 1 Rce-B6t voltage regulator, is this like some sort of accessory that ignites my glo-plug without having to use the ignitor. What is this?

Also in fins videos it said to use shoo goo but Ace hardware was sold out so I bought something called household amazing goop(Contact Adhesive and Sealant) can I use this?

You can get the sensor in after the build but to make life easier put it in before you mount servos. Or you can go the other route of mounting the sensor on the outside of the frames and drilling a new hole for the sensor throught the fan shroud. What ever you do mount the magnets into a IMHO upgraded Aluminium fan other wise you will need to rip a fair bit of the heli apart to get at it again in time..

The B6T has a glow igniter built in to the switch unit, it also converts a 7.4V Lipo down to 5.6 Volts to run the electronics, cool huh!

Goop is basically the same thing!!

The external mounting of the sensor will allow for much easier maintenance. I intend to go that route with my Multigov sensor. Aerospire even has instructions on how to do it:

+1 this is the ONLY way to mount the 600N sensor.. inside the frames is "clean" but a PITA (pain in the $$$).

What can I use instead of ca glue for screws goin into plastic such as the ones holding the clutch bell mount.

Whats wrong with CA? You can get it anywhere

Use medium or thick viscosity CA and it allows more time to get the screw in and it stays where you put it.

Holds the screws in very well and it possible to remove them if needed.

Dont use Loctite as it will damage the plastic.

+1. I use medium for everything except places where I want the CA to seep into a tiny gap, in which case I use the thin.

What if I run S3151 servos for my throttle and my cyclic and pitch? The 9252, and 9452 I see goin for about $72.00 per servo, thats quite expensive?

what you spend in cyclic servo's now, will pay off later. the 3151's i had in a 600E didn't perform as well as the 9252's i replaced them with later.

On my metal tail unit, im supposed to take out the socket screws but my 2mm hex seems too loose and seems to have partially stripped one screw. I only got 2 out and ran into that stuck one, I think im not going to touch anymore, I tried standard size too. I tried all standard and metric

I just attempted one on the other side it slipped, im not touching them.
So I should run 9252's for my elevator, aileron and pitch?

yes, you have to run the same servo on all 3 corners of the swash.. 9252's work out really well. i believe 9452's are $5 or so more and have even better specs, and seem to be the servo everyone is recommending for a good mid grade/performance affordable servo.

Do I need a servo extension for my elevator servo, the one furthest back? Or for any other servo?

Using Futaba Servos

Depends on what servos you end up going with.

My Hitec servo wires get to the Rx no problems. HS-6975HB's

Is Custom Heli Parts Trex 600 Nitro Gyro / Servo Mount recommended or is it just wasting money?
Oh and should I cycle my align battery first?

With a futaba 9cap what swashplate type do I pick in my radio setup?

120 degree CCPM.

Burt

120 degree would that be

SWH2 Aileron n pitch servos tilt the swash left and right, pitch inputs the aileron n pitch raise the swash up and down

SWH4 Aileron inputs, the aileron and pitch servos tilt the swash left n right, elevator inputs the servos tilt the swash fore and aft, pitch inputs all 4 servos raise the swash up n down

Sr-3 Aileron and pitch servos tilt swash left and right, w/ elevator inputs, the 3 servos tilt the swash fore and aft, with pitch all 3 servos raise swash up n down

Sn-3 Aileron inputs, 3 servos til t the swash left and right, w/ elevator inputs the elevator n pitch servos tilt the swash fore n aft, w/ pitch all 3 servos raise the swash

Greetings,

I am in the process of rebuilding my Trex 600 nitro. In doing so I am upgrading the BEC to Align's 2 in One RCE-B6T. Does anyone have suggestions as to where to mount this unit? I sure would appreciate a description as well photos if possible. Thanks much Fred Millard
