Has anyone seen the screen of their Cap9 shut down while flying?

I was flying my trex today and at about five minutes landed to check my transmitter timer. To my horror, my transmitter screen was completely blank.

The heli was sitting firmly on the ground in idle up with some negative pitch. I flipped the idle up switch and pulled the throttle off. Even though the transmitter appeared to be off, it was not as the heli shut down. I unplugged the heli and cycled the switch and everything appears to be working but it's left me with some doubts about my radio.

it's a few years old but has worked flawlessly. Battery was charged and voltage was 9.8. Temperature was about plus 2 celcius.

I have no idea how long the screen was out, but it was working when I started things up.

I have heard of that happening before. In each case it was when the radio was being used in cold temps. It is an LCD screen, so the cold does affect it.

And from your Location I would say it was just a tad on the cold side ATM :D

Actually it was a pretty good day, plus 2C and no wind. Wednesday was better at plus 5 also with no wind. Overcast and threatening snow both days. Got in a number of flights. Give me those temps and some sun this time of year and I'd be doing a lot more flying!

Also flew indoors last night so it's been a good week.
