Just wondering if anyone had converted their Axe CP to 2.4 Spektrum?

Considering the cost… it might be better to put those electronics into a more capable frame. Just my opinion though.

Easy, just pull the RX part off (left side looking at it from the front) and pop in your AR6100 and program it. Everyone is correct about the cost thing, however, the ACP will fly beautifully once you can dial it in a little better. You'll still need to drop in a good gyro (GY401 or equivalent) and a brushless setup for max capability. You can hover ok with the stock gyro, but I'm not too confident with it for FF. (besides which, any good electronics you get for it, you can throw into a Trex/Diablo/Titan without a hitch, unless you go for a 500-600+ size heli. In that case you can ALWAYS sell off your used (good) E components for a decent price!)

IMHO, it's not a bad bird (and no offense to anyone else here!) but there are a lot of bad mechanics. While it's not a super-good starting heli(out of the box), it'll teach you what you need to get into the hobby or keep you in until you can afford a bigger, better heli, which most people do anyways. It all comes down to what you are willing to put into it. You'll easily spend over $1000 quick with a Trex 450, and the ACP wouldn't cost you half that.

Setup is everything in a heli, and you can't get much easier than the ACP for what it can do. Seeing you already own it, you might as well use it.

I put a spektrum RX in mine and it flies great. I normally fly a T-rex 450 se V2, but I learned on the AXE and am now turning it into a mini scale bird.

The adjustability that my DX7 brought to this bird is great.
