has anyone tried the new max amps 3000mah battery on the trex 500.
Yep, early days though. Not had chance to give this pack the beans yet. Fits nice under stock mounting and balances nice with 8900G on the tail. Pack weighs 460g.

You buy it at the Maxamps website. The 6s 3000mah pack is $165 + connectors of choice. This probably is one of the best pack choices for the 500.

I will stick to ZIPPY-H 3300mAh 6S1P 20-30C for less than $ 100,- :banana

Too heavy at 529g (almost 20% heavier). The maxamps weighs 443g without connectors.
You can also order them with your connectors of choice preinstalled ( Cellpro node connectors for example).

I don't mind the extra weight for my kind of flying (basic hover training) and they are delivered with Dean and XH balancer connectors, that I am using already.
