thought it was bad fuel Curtis youngblood 30, switched to what I used all summer still locked up,
Have just started tuning this engine in 600n, 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 turns open on main needle, have not touched
low speed from factory. Whats the cure here Ive never had this happen, sure fuel lock sometimes but never oil.

Where is the oil coming from? Only oil is the oil that is used in the fuel. Is the muffler above the engine and left over oil in the muffler is draining into the engine?

You say it is oil that is hydro locking it. The oil is in the fuel, so I would think it is being hydrolocked with excess fuel.

Does it hyrdo lock after it has been run some? With fuel still in the tank and sitting on the bench?

What color is the oil? Are you sure it is oil only?

You got me thinking, Im going to pull mp5 and make sure the thin layer of hig temp silicone is not blocking bottom. If not what about a small hole drilled near exhaust deflector on the bottom to assist draining?

set at 1 turn and 3 clicks, started slightly tilted, perfect and I can even restart. To rich
and pipe holds oil and allows back to cylinder. No wobble either perfect. If the winds were not
45mph here I'd be happy as a little school girl.

My guess is that mixture setting is going to be a little on the lean side.
