I'm having a little trouble with my 2-in-1 on my 600N. The glow plug button does not work every time so I bought a Duralite 5.6V regulator to replace it and use a remote glow starter. Got the regulator at the LHS and the owner said this is what I should use. He is an extremely skilled heli pilot so I should trust his judgement. I went into Duralites web site and see that this particular regulator is not recommended for helis. I'm wondering if using the stepdown for the gyro, fixes this or is there a reason I should get a different regulator. Anybody used the PPD-65056 5.6V SW regulator?

no idea.. but i have found that w/ the align 2 in 1 that if the aligator clip is touching the sides of the plug, that the lights will come on, but the plug won't light.

I got a response from Duralite.

Hi Dan,

We recommend using no more than a 5.3 volt regulator on a typical helicopter set up because of the tail servo operating voltage. I'm not familiar with the Align step down in terms of how it functions but if it is anything like ours then it steps the voltage down by a specific amount based upon a 6 volt operating condition.

If the Align step down drops the voltage down by .9 of a volt then operating it on our 5.6 volt regulator will bring the tail servo voltage down to 4.5 volts.

Best Regards,
