Well Saturday had my first (nasty) crash - stripped servos - I installed the ds285's BUT I cant get them all to go in the correct direction!

Closest I get is all perfect except aileron is opposite. You would think just going in the reverse menu and changing the aileron setting (currently on R) to N would do the trick - no deal, when changing to N now both rear servos move in the same direction when applying aileron

'bout ready to pull all my hair out - I finally gave up before I went insane!

Anybody have similar probs when replacing their servos - any suggestions?

I think I found my solution. I need to change servo direction in the swash mix menu.......argh! I would have never thought of that.

Ya, I found that out on my own as well when installing HS65MG's.... Thankfully it didn't take too long to figure it out.

A couple days ago, though, watching the Finless videos, he was setting up servo linkages and such and mentioned this exact issue.

If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend downloading the videos and watching them. Especially since you just replaced the servos, since you'll have to go through sub-trim and servo horn placement.

Another tidbit of info he had (which I didn't know) is that double servo arms are not symmetrical. If it goes on one way and it's not 90 degrees to the swash, you can flip it 180 degrees since the spline is not the same on the other side. So sometimes it's better to use the double arm horns, and then trim off the arm that you won't be using. That way you're closer to 90 before using subtrim to even it out.

I think I found my solution. I need to change servo direction in the swash mix menu.......argh! I would have never thought of that.
