Does an esc like mine on my E550, the BLC-75 really cutts of before you have over discharged your battery. My setting is standard discharge (step 1: 2.9 V step 2: 2.6 V).
I always fly on a timer but I really want to know.

With these settings It does cut the head speed to a lower RPM at 2.9V.
At 2.6 it cuts the motor completely.
A too low setting for your Lipo IMHO.
A higher cutoff voltage would be better.
On my Ace 40A I set it to the lowest setting, or OFF because it got triggered in hard manoeuvres, very annoying when the head speed drops in the middle of a fast climb or fast turn.
So I simply do not use the feature, and time my flights according to the 80% rule.
