Rate mode with Gear switch in both positions -is it possible ?

Guys,

I am trying to set up my DX7 so that I have rate mode all of the time (no HH) but can set the level from the DX7. Currently I have got it working such that with the Gear switch down I have rate (e.g. -80) and with it up I have HH (e.g. +80). Is there any way to get -80 in the up position - i.e. rate with switch up or down - this is what I have on my Futaba 6EXH which is what I am hoping for as it means that I can't get the switch wrong.

Is this possible ? Or is there a better way of achieving this but still being able to adjust the gain level on my DX7 ??.

Can't you just set the up position ATV of your gear switch to a negative number?

If ATV is the Travel Adjust then no - with the switch up it goes 0 to +100 with it down it gies 0 to -100, I want 0 to -100 for up or down.

I have mine set for HH in both position on the DX7 with the gyro sens menu, not the ATV's.
