OK, i've gone and finally done what i've wanted to for a long time. Ordered up a Logo5003D. So now that the easy part is out of the way, on to the hard part, choosing components. Right now the motor choices are hard so i'm hoping everyone can pitch in their collective knowledge and help me get the info needed so I can make a good motor decision.

I'll be running 6S 5000 and this is the motors i've figured out are the top runners based upon previous threads. Help me rate these in the different categories.

The players with pros/cons:

Neu 1910H 1Y
Plattenberg Orbit 25-08HE
Hacker A40 10L
Hacker A40 8L
Kontronik Tango
Z30A-1110
Z50A-1150

Best all out performance:

Price:

Bang for buck:

Efficiency/Flight time:

Heat:

Are you talking about the 1907/1Y/H? What would be the other you are considering. I noticed that RH had the 1907 1.5Y with fan in stock yesterday. What have you been hearing about these new motors so far?

It may be worthwhile to consider scorpion motors. I have no idea which one would be the right one. I believe that they will have the heli version in the size you need very soon. I would even try the airplane version if I needed a motor right now.

I almost got that one but decided to hold out for the 600 class Scorpion motor that should be coming out soon.

Anyone have any comparitive observations of some of these motors. Seems like when these threads come up someone will say this motor is good, and the next says this motor is good, but can anyone give comparisons and pros and cons of each motor?

PM OICU812, he has tried a lot of motors in his Logo's and can give you honest answers...not just opinions.

I am sticking with my ZPower Z30 motor, plenty of power and not real hard on my Lipo's....besides you really can't beat the price.

besides you really can't beat the price.

That is were the scorpion motors will come in. If they work as well as I am hearing about they should be a good overall motor for price/performance.

Ok here is my take on all these motors, I have tried all of them actually, lol.... I know that is sad I can never be happy!~

NEU 1910(H)-1Y = Best on 16 tooth Mod.7 gearing. It is a decent performer, it is abel to pull good even with weaker packs, downfall is it could be abit higher HS but going to a 17 tooth starts to make the packs get to warm for my liking and with a 16tooth you definetely want to have your governor % from 85 -90 to get good 3D HS.

Plettenberg Orbit 25-8 = Very strong motor on 15 tooth is it pretty silly actually, lol. It handles high rom very well however on 15 tooth the HS will be around 2350-2370 at 75% rpm load. A 14 tooth at 85-90 % actually works very well and still yields decent flight times.

Hacker A40-10L = Sport motor for sure imho, 15 mod.7 tooth is "ok", 16 tooth is better but it gets on the warm side and flights are short. Still a good value for the money for certain.

Hacker A40-8 = 3D motor on 13 tooth mod.7 pinion for sure. Good power and a good overall value for certain.

Tango = Sport motor for sure, not a big low grunt motor at all. Runs very cool, very easy on packs and just a good overall motor, just do not get it if you want ballz out 3D grunt. Best suited with 16 tooth mod .7 pinion.

Z1110- Great motor on 16 tooth for 3D and a real good overall balance motor.

Z1150 - Super punch and good low grunt. 16 tooth is abit to much and gets packs warm, 15 tooth is good for sure at 85%.

Best grunt, the Heli Expert or the 1150kv Zpower for sure
Best Value 1110kv Zpower or Hacker A40-8
Best Sport I would opt Tango or the Hacker A40-10

All others listed are still good, no worries. This is all IMHO of course peeps so take it with that you will.

Awesome Shawn! That's the kind of descriptions I was looking for. So did you list these in any particular order as far as your liking. I'm coming off a Trex 600 that was going to get hopped up but decided going Logo instead. Basically i'm looking to get 4:30 to 5:00 semi-aggressive 3D performance, something that will blow the pants off my Trex600, and still be relatively kind to my packs. I'm definately interested in the Heli Expert or Zpower. Any idea what kind of flight times I could expect with these and where can one find the Zpower in the states?

Thanks

No , no order just copied and pasted from your first post, then inserted my thoughts is all..

Revolution Models UK has the Zpower, the Heli Expert is sold by I-Care or rcflightstore.com
Hackers are sold by Aeromodel or Espirit Model as well as a few others...NEUs are sold by Espirit Models

As I said all those motors are actually really decent. the last notes on my reply sum up my thoughts. Its tough to say which is my real #1 favourite, I'd have to have a motor and heli to go with it and fly back to back to really know. I only have two 500s so tough to say. All the 3D motors I listed are decent, they are all good imho. Pinion selection is what will give you your balance of flight time, all these motors and pinions I mention will give 4:30 - 5 mins for sure of bangin 3D.

Now realize this heli period even with the sport motors I posted will eat a 600 rex, no kidding man it is all about power to weight ratio. The Logo 500 is significantly lighter and you will notice it greatly the first time you fly it, I guarantee it. Make sure to strap on 550-560mm mains and some good packs along with your system and you'll be happy for sure.

C'mon Eyon, let's see some vid of your ET equipped heli instead of teasing us:thumbup:

I'm aware of the ET motors but did not list them since I figured it'd be a little while before 1)normal people could get one, and 2)the performance verdict was decided.

unfortunatly i am still a normal person, so i havent got mine yet, i really should edit my sig, but too lazy.

i am just looking at my logo now, nearly ready to go tomorrow, but on the logo 500 setup, just to see if it will work, which i have no doubt in my mind it will. Danny J's cyclic setup, a few additions of my own, should be a really light weight, not so rocket like....rocket ship

if i can find a place to mount my RX pack i will let you all know how it goes tomorrow, i cant wait!!!!!
