I picked this up today from my LHS and I thought I could use it on the 200. Is this a good place to mount the gyro for this little thing? Or is it better up front?

Nice !! Did you get it at Al's? What part is it? Looks like a good place to mount it to me depending on the location of your ESC.

Man, you're still awake too? Yea, I got it from Al's. It is made by MicroHeli for the Trex 450 gyro mount ala 450 SE V2 style....bottom of the tail as oppose to top mount like the V1s. My ESC is mounted on the left side towards the front. I'm still trying to put this thing together along with these two but somehow, I just can't get it done :arggg:

Nice find on that MicroHeli gyro mount idea. I'm gonna have to get one if it doesn't make it too tail heavy.
Check this out.

Buzz, looks nice! i just picked up the same box. I haven't checked it yet, but I hope to fit my DX7 and a single 200 in there.

The esc is underneath the battery.
The skid is a larger skid, belong to Walkera 53#1. The original skid is too small and to low.

I like the idea but there really is no room to throw more weight to the back of this heli. With lighter components than you have (especially if thats the gyro you will be using) and everything positioned as far forward as I could get it (gyro, rx, esc, battery) I still had to tape a quarter in the nose of the fiberglass canopy to get the cg right. My 200 (with aluminum tail boom) weighs in at 265g ready to fly. How much do the CF tail booms weigh?

Yea I scratched the idea of the gyro being on the rear like that. I didn't like the idea of drilling into the frame and so this is how my setup is now.

Why not put it up front? The metal parts 203325 has the aluminum threaded tube and screws. It would definately help with the CG and make adjusting thr gyro a lot easier.

Well couldn't stop thinking about it so I thought I'd try it myself. I had an Align 450 tray on hand and the 203325 part bag. Turned out pretty good for an cutting wheel and an exacto knife. Room for a 401 and doesnt touch the canopy. I'm waiting on two parts to finish this build. I'll let ya know how it works when I get it together. Thanks for the idea ROne21 !!

but whats wrong with just having it behind the battery? Idea looks good, but how much weight was added?
The Gaui200 is already tail heavy without putting the 770 at the back
In addition the 770 will add a significant weight to the AUW
I would switch to a light weight gyro

ROne21, that will work out much better for you and the heli's weight distribution. You may want to consider moving the esc and position it just below the rx on that space in front of the ail and ele servos (or place the rx there and the esc where you currently have the rx). Having it hanging below the battery tray like that could prove to be a problem when you crash and when putting on the canopy.
the esc shouldn't be a problem there, I have crashed pretty good with my esc below and its been fine.

ROne21, it looks like the lower collar on the main shaft is low either that or the main shaft itself is low?

Yeah, I was thinking that the bottom shaft collar was hanging down pretty low as well. The small diameter part of the shaft should fit into the bottom collar and the collar should be pushed up as far as it will go right? Also whats the hole towards the bottom of the main shaft for? It doesn't line up with either of the collars.

That's how I got the heli. So the collar should be raised? I'll check into it. But you would think the shaft would slide up and down with the collar that low, right? But it doesn't.

It doesn't because the upper collar fit is snug due to the main gear but the lower collar should make contact with the lower bearing.
Loosen the upper collar, pull the main shaft up snug and tighten the upper collar. Your links will need to be adjusted for this change.

Hmm, I need to see a pic of how it comes from the factory. Can't remember how mine was since I Have had the head assembly completely apart and the shaft removed. The instructions SUCK and don't talk about this at all.
