I bought 2200 LiPo's and the blade's canopy didnt even think about fitting, so i went out and got the TRex 450 canopy to get some width to the nose and accept that larger pack. the stock battery was almost a tight squeeze too. Its kinda a work in progress, but I actually like the unfinished look. It started as the yellow plastic canopy, but the tail fins were a bit brighter than the canopy, so it all went primer.

Massively Cool!

I'm thinking 2200's as well, mostly so all my stuff runs on one set of batteries.
This just saved me a bunch of experimentation and probably a few bucks for a spare canopy to butcher.

Question though: The tail fins, paddles and tail rotor all look to be made of polypropylene or something similar, what kind of paint did you use, and is it sticking well? Most of the "slick" plastics shed paint fast when they flex. I've been eyeing a plastic-specific brand (sorry cant' remember the name) at Walmart, I'll try that and compare notes.

I haven't had problems fitting the canopy with 2200s. It is snug but does work.

same here with 2250's but I have made the groument holes a little further back and up for more room, got tired of fighting it.

There is a paint caled Verithane. It works well on anything that flexes. We used to use it on Boots even. Strip what ever you decide to paint very well. If there is any oil at all on it you will get Fisheye. it will stick, and will not flake off like most paints.

Good idea. The stick that the gromet holes go on is really ticking me off. I read somewhere that they first used heatshrink then later used wheel collars on either side to hold the stick in place. Next crash, I will be purchasing the collars.

Oh the wobbly stick? yes I put an extra pair of grouments on the stick itself next to the body seems to work fine. But I was talking about making the canopy fit better by moving the holes back to make more room for the battery.

I think the B 400 canopy looks much better than the Align one...
