talking about the DX6I I'm guessing, pretty sure stock settings are aileron and elevator are reversed.
Are you using the stock servos?
What are your swash mix settings in the DX6i? And if you don't know what I'm talking about, yank out the DX6i manual that came with the B400 and you'll see where the swash mix menu is.

Schirtzy,
Sounds like a LHS I wouldn't be going back to. There's one up here in Beaverton, Oregon (won't mention the name) but the guy who works evenings seems about as friendly as a freakin' rattlesnake. So I take the time to drive another 5 minutes to the other one where the guys are serious in helping anyone with their hobby.
Anyways, it sounds like your swash mixing for ailerons and elevator are reversed. If they are at, lets say, -75 then you need to run them up to +75. I had the same issue with left/right/elevator being right but pitch would go full collective at idle throttle stick. Changed the pitch from -85 to +85 and everything was just peachy again. BTW, I was setting up my DX7 to fly the 400 (bought the B400 w/o DX6i). Sweet deal. Great flying heli, and she's my first.
Good luck with it. If you r-e-a-l-l-y wanna throw it away then I want first dibs. :-)
