View Full Version : FINISHED E325SE???
Well the test flight is coming up, I have a Heli Pro Flyer checking out the system, setting up the DX7, now to find a location indoor for the test flight?
It's like having a new born baby arriving to the FOLD.
I'm a senior, maybe it's like having a Grand BABY to the family?
Back to the simulator for more practice??
Love this past time.

Make sure you watch what he does, so later when you are trying to fine tune your setup you dont need to go back to him. Ive been in RC hobbies quite some time now, and learning to do all of it on your own saves time and money.
Love this past time.
Me too
Good Luck with your test Flight, take some pics of your new Bird and report back after you fly it.
EDIT: I see your in IL, Friday and Sat nights between 11pm and 1am theres a golf dome open for flying in Bensenville. Ive never been there, but Ive read about it. Ive just been hovering in my garage, with the ocasional trip outside when its above 20 and not to windy.
Just premoted you!!! 08. Yeah thats where we are going for the test flight. YIKES at 11:00 pm!! Well we have to sacrifice something for our hobby.
Will post the test. Maybe not the crash ????
Till then, WISH LUCK!!!

Last time I was there there was about 30-40 people. It varies a lot sometimes there is only 4 or 5. Spectators are ok. To fly you need an AMA card and $10.
How do I get an AMA card?

AMA card... http://www.modelaircraft.org/
Good luck with your maiden flight. Make sure you set-up the radio (with help) just so you know how to navigate the menus and change things if you need to.
OK, I just received my AMA card.

Hey guys!
I'm a Chicagoland flyer too. In fact, I think I met you Paul a couple weeks ago when you were flying your little GAUI 200 and your girlfriend was flying the Blade CX-2
I finally got my mini-Titan trimmed thanks to the help of a local heli guru that I found through Al's Hobby. I'm trying to learn fast to do this stuff myself though.
So far I've only flown 4 battery packs trying to hover but it's A BLAST!!! I welcome all tips from you guys as I'm a noob at Heli's and this is my first collective pitch bird. I started with a Blade CX-2 four months ago.
I plan to come to the dome tomorrow night (Sat) to fly the MT for only the 3rd day (5th battery pack)
Cym, that person setting up your MT wouldn't be Gary O. would it?
Hope to see some of you guys there.
I've been on RC Universe since last Nov. but I think I'll be migrating over here.
Dave D.
Right on, yes it is G.O. who is setting things up, I went so far in the building stage, now I need that pro touch.
We'll be going to the Dome when he's finished.
No wonder it's taking time to do my heli, he was doing yours!!!!
HAPPY fLYING DAVE

Cym, LOL, I needed that "pro touch" too ;-)
Actually, Gary only met with me for 2 hrs a week ago to help me. I had everything done except the tail servo, radio programming and initial trims. She flies GREAT!!!
Hope to see you and Paul and randerson07 at the dome. I'll be the guy with the mini-Titan that has landing lights and a blue spot light under the heli.
Dave D.
Hi Dave: I'll be the MT 325se with the 50 Cal. cannons looking for a Twinkin MT, :).
You will notice the pilot has grey hair and nervous.

Cym,
I thought you were the other guy Gary was helping last night but I guess not. Nice to hear that you have the SE.
I had a litte "accident" last night. Thought I'd try bringing it around from tail in to nose in. BAD IDEA!!! I tipped it from about 18 inches off the ground. Cracked a main blade, snapped the landing skid base and both base mounts on the frame. The frame mounts are now drying from a good dose of J-B Weld and I'm picking up new skids tomorrow at the LHS. Only thing is I have to install and fly the Align blades I bought as spares. I hear they "might" be 1-2 degrees +/- from what the OEM woodies are and I'll have to adjust the radio trims to account for that.
We'll see.
I felt a little better though when Gary said I improved quite a bit since the last week.
