Well my pinion came loose in flight, luckily I was only hovering and brought it down with no damage. It happened when I switched to idle up, just was about to test my new tail servo and gyro setting. It now just slips on and off, rotates easily and freely.
So.... have you guys replaced the pinion before on the 200? It's just a press fit? strong thread lock? I've only had experience with pinions with a setscrew, anyone know of a replacement pinion with a set screw? I'd like to keep with the 15t, but a bit concerned that a gaui stock replacement will do the same.

Yep threadlock should sort it
I use the paste/stick type threadlock from loctite, loctite blue instead of the liquid. I just stick my motor shaft into the paste so it gets around the shaft and then slide the pinion on. No movement after that. You have to be quick though as it starts to grip very quickly.

Crabfu,
We use green locktite to secure the pinion to the motor shaft.

Loctite 638 is the stuff you want. For non-threaded connections. Holds tight. Releases easily with a spot of heat (solderign iron).

Thanks for all of the info/tips guys! It seems very loose right now, surprising that thread lock will hold it, but will give it a shot. Thanks again :)

The fit should be snug.
The motor shaft spinning inside the pinion may have eroded away enough of the pinion that you will need to buy a new pinion.

yeah.... kinda what I figured... it is completely free spinning right now, nowhere near snug. Thanks, I will order a replacement :)
