stator gator wire

I am mounting a statorgator on my spectra, but i get confused about how i should connect it to the ignition.
The manual says that red goes to black eng kill wire, and the black to ground on engine case.
The black killwire goes to eng. ground? so are they both ground?
Please help me with how to connect this.

The black kill wire come of the coil. It you were to ground it it would stop the motor by grounding the coil. There is a pulse on the wire when it fires the plug , This is what the Stator Gator uses. Just plug the Stator Gator into the black kill wire and ground the other.
