Is this engine any good? Do you think it will fit the Knigh3D's engine mounts and top bearing brace?

I have one, so far so good and it bolts right in.

The carb interferes a little with the crank ring. I was able to get it to work by trimming a small section of the rubber ring. This let it drop down a hair. It does not sit correct, there is a small cant to it, but it clears the fan and when it is tightened down nothing rubs.

Ok please post soon regarding the performance compared to OS hyper. I want to buy a new engine soon.

from the other forum one guy installed the 53H with a little shave on the engine top mount

personaly i would go with the hyper and wait a little to see how this engine works for other people. 3 out of 3 tt50 (prior version) were junk to me in less than 1 gallon of fuel. could just have been my bad luck but i have gotten countless gallons on my hyper 50's

I have been flying the TT53 the last two weekends. I think I have the breaking clutch issue licked, so far so good....

The K3D flies fantastic. The TT53 pulls hard, but I'm getting different needle settings than most. I'm at around 3 turns out, and I'm running a Carbsmart set at 100C. It runs near the center of my settings, but thrashing it around will make the CS go full rich, then it will lean it our when normal flying is resumed. I think it's set about right.

I think you need to just tune it to what it needs, and don't try to compare it to an OS 50 tuning. Most of my OS 50's are set at just over 1 turn out.

Time will tell if it will have the bearing issues that the OS has. It pull strong, but I'm not getting the hell-raising power that others claim. It seems stronger, but not by a lot....
