I was planing to use JB weld as well in the metal fan......Even though I don't have gyro picked yet. Hey where did you get your Spartan?
I don't have it yet. Esprit said their shipment was supposed to come in on Friday but it never did so still waiting.
I read some posts last night that JB weld may not be the best thing for magnets since it contains metal and may reduce the power of the magnet. Sure, tons of people have used it with no problem but I may just use good ol 30 minute epoxy and be done with it.

What is your question?
Dont forget me guys, I also bought a setup and I am currently ordering and putting together my bird. Total without my already owned 401 gyro, gv-1 is over $1400.00 already.
Also the step down regulator is like sold out at most major retailers right now.
So I guess if I use a voltage regulator for my tail servo i dont need to worry about servo extensions?
I also bought quick uk swash, fan and tail blades, my align blade grips are silver, my swash and tail grips are red, and my canopy is the red one, I hope it matches. I bought red cause my raptor has blue on it.
Also with the money ive invested into this new bird makes me wonder that I should have bought this premade one. I wonder how this bird turned out to be?

I got lucky that my LHS was getting a delivery at the very moment I was there and a step-down was in the shipment. Somebody had even bought his entire supply of fuel filters a few days earlier and there was one of those in the shipment too.
The first time you have a major crash or some strange behavior, you'll be glad you built it yourself. You'll know how the parts fit together, so you'll probably have some idea as to how to fix it.

AAARRRRG! Through my lack of attention to detail (twice), I managed to fry my 2-in-1. At first, I had the RX throttle channel connector on the Multigov inserted backward and the 2-in-1 survived that. However, when I flipped the connector over, I got it skewed by one pin. I guess I can be thankful that the 2-in-1 appears to be the only victim. The RX still works and the Multigov diagnostics all indicate that the Multigov is OK. The gyro was not hooked up at the time, so it's OK too.

Hopefully its only the 2 in 1!
I realized last night I have the old version head and I got the fuel filter in the kit. I guess the bright side is that I don't have to buy a fuel filter and when I crash I can upgrade the head parts. Just the luck of the draw on what ready heli pulled off of the shelf I guess.

I'm 99% sure only the 2-in-1 is damaged. Here are the things I tried after changing over to my homemade receiver pack and plugging in the gyro and tail servo:
1. I switched on the RX and TX and was able to move all servos (cyclic, rudder, throttle) correctly with TX inputs, so those 5 channels appear to be OK.
2. I have the gyro gain on the Gear switch and I was able to verify that the Gear channel is apparently OK by watching the behavior of the tail servo when moving the rudder stick while switched into HH mode and then into Rate mode.
3. On the Multigov:
a. On the Test Idle/Test High menu, I verified the throttle servo moved to the correct position in each state.
b. On the Set Idle/Set High menu, I verified the Idle value changed as I moved the throttle stick.
c. On the Sensor menu, I turned the fan and verified that the sensor could be read.
d. On the Gov Test menu, I verified that the governor stayed off regardless of stick position when the TX was in NORM mode (I had it configured that way) and that it went from OFF to ON when I moved the stick up in ST-1 mode. This verified that the AUX2 channel is at least partially working. I'll try using the Speed 1/2/3 menu this evening to completely verify the AUX2 channel is OK, but I don't foresee there being a problem.
After this experience, I'm *really* glad I opted for the Multigov. It made troubleshooting a breeze.

I also have the fuel filter with kit purchased from ReadyHeli. How do you know that we have the old head?

The pictures I've seen of the new head show writing on top of the swash. (Not the align logo)
Mine has no writing.
On the canopy, are you guys cutting out the center underneath the windshield as it shows in the manual or leaving it for strength?

Yep, that's not the one I have.
I'm not worried about it though. I doubt as a beginner I can tell the difference between the two any way.

Perhaps you purchased the stock replacement one and not the upgraded one.
The upgraded one also comes with a new washout base and metal washout arms.

My kit was purchased last week from ReadyHeli.com. I did not order an updated swash. My understanding was that all of the kits being sold now had updates but apparently they don't.
I also did not get metal washout arms. I don't know what the new base looks like but I doubt I have it :)

Sorry, for clarification, mine came as part of a new 600N kit. The kit also had the plastic wash out arms.
The heli seems to fly beautifully as is. :)

You probably just got old stock and I probably was just lucky to get new stock.

So i figured this out. After talking with ReadyHeli they said a Super Pro 600n is coming. Officialy it will come with the up graded swash. I am guessing that Align had low stock of the old swash and used the new one for a few kits.

I still have to assemble my fueling system, but the heli itself is DONE! Many thanks to the Freaks for your insightful posts and stimulating arguments (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=62368).
One comment on the photos: in the left side photo, the AR7000 satellite is shown with the antenna oriented horizontally. In its current configuration, I actually have it rotated counterclockwise 45 degrees. Thank goodness I used Velcro. The two antennas are still orthogonal when viewed from the front looking down at a 45 degree angle.
Now I just have to get some weather conducive to the maiden. Tomorrow is looking good.

i am getting close to being done also. i had a bad 9452 servo so i am waiting on that. also waiting to plug in and set up tail/gyro. made he homemade step down because i can't find the align step down, but not sure if it is giving a low enough voltage. showing up at 5.2+. other than that she is about done.

I just finished about an hour ago.............This morning was all about the wires. I changed the location of the electronics a dozen times. All wires internal to frame and ez location for the 2in1 switch right were the starter goes. This makes it easy to see the igniter light and keeps your eys in the same area at start up.
I am going to Southlake 114th air field in the AM.........
Here are some very blurry pics from my phone. To tired to pull out the good camera.

I wish the TX-121 toll road was done. The trek from McKinney to Southlake is a lengthy one due to the lack of a quick, direct route. I'll probably just head out to the Erwin Park field tomorrow afternoon. It's supposed to be windy in the morning.

Good luck, looks great. Did it come with the red boom or did you add that? I need a red canopy, I think it looks a lot better.
One thing you might want to do is use braided sleeving on all the wires. Looks great and protects against chafing.
