Hi guys,

I live in germany and would like to use the JR DSX9 over here. Is the DSX9 in europe legal? The US DX-7 for example is not allowed in germany because of the output power. But how is it with the JR DSX9?

Cheers Ali

There is a dual output power programmable on the DSX9 - one for US and one for Europe so I imagine that has been thought of.

Any idea how this programmable option is accessed?

Yes no reason to worry about the regulations in your country. Go ahead and use the equipment where it has been authorized to use in your country or not. That way maybe when something happens using equipment that has not been approved they will stop the RC hobby in those countries. Then RC equipment will be less money elsewhere. LOL

I can't find it now on my menus :o and I wonder if it disappeared as an option once set - maybe it was an option for dealers

Halo,

Where do you have your radios from? I would like to by one becasue my 2m Katana plain was "shot down" by somebody :bawl so I will not use 35 MHz anymore in my bigger planes. I am really sorry I am not so good in English, so what do you mean by ...cause clever mates order from HK... I would like to by radio in HK and I am not sure if will be problem with power output (difference between model for US and Europe).

Thanks for your commentary on.

I understand from a call from Midland Helicopters (with who I pre-ordered a DSX9) that the system will be available in the UK at the end of this month but it will be approx £600 !!! for Tx and Tx only.

Not wishing to get ripped off I cancelled my order.

I do understand that the DSX9 is currently available in Australia (where I happen to be in the next few weeks on a business trip). My question is what is the allowed power level for 2.4GHz transmissions in Aus? Will I be able to get an Aus unit reprogrammed if the output is higher than the 100mW UK allowable output? Do the Au units have any form of CE mark on the back?

Thanks for any help and if anyone can suggest a good model shop in Adelade, open on a Sunday, that might have them please let me know!

The DSX9 bought in Australia does have a CE tick on the back and this is required for usage under MAA rules - not sure about the power output though

Power output in Aus is the same as for the US, which I believe is 100mW EIRP. If you are going to be in Adelaide that is where the JR/Spektrum agents for Australia reside and their retail outlet is www.modelflight.com.au :

Model Flight Pty Ltd
42 Maple Ave, Forestville, South Australia, 5035

If you want to buy a DSX9 you would be wise to call ahead and place one on reserve or they may not have the variant (Plane/Heli/Mode) that you want in stock on the day you pass through.

Radios in Australia do have a CE lable but, do not follow the CE sticker as they mean 2/5 of bugger all to the MAAA. The MAAA only accepts radios with what we call the C-tick. (This to me sounds like a bit of a scam run by the importer/distibutors to stop you from buying online at 3/4 of the price.)
Any radios that dont have the C-tick will not be repaired by anyone of their agents in Australia as there are very few importer/distibutors in Australia in fact, depending on the brand they are sole importers.
Therefore with out this crappy lable they say sorry, too bad, go away, and send it back to where you got it from, and next time buy it from me at twice the price.

Classic example after the currency conversion including shipping JR 9303 2.4ghz Tx & Rx only O.S market value about $600.00 the RRP in AUS about $900.00+
