I am curious to know does anyone use their scale as the daily flyer? Reason being, I have two helis and need to sell some parts from one to properly finish my scale. That would put my daily flyer on the bench until funds build up. I am glad to admit that I have never used any form of credit or money from my household budget to fund my habit.

I have my T-Rex 600E to play with when the 500 is down. But I prefer to have both in the air. Makes for longer play time.

No reason your scaler can't be a daily flyer. Maintenance is not really any different, it's all the same parts that wear out. Just keep an eye on the fuselage mounting points, and make sure everything stays tight.

I have two Century scalers (one a 30 Jet Ranger and the other their 50 size Bell 47). They both have well over 100 flights on them simply because I bring them out regularly instead of only my 3D machines.

And many times I bring both and have flights with the scalers and the 3Ders.

If you feel confident in the dependability of your scalers and your flying ability, why not?

A guy at my club flies nothing but scale. :)

Almost all the helis I have has a scale body on it or does when it flys. My Defender has been getting alot of airtime lately, Also my blackhawk. I think they look so much better than the pod and boom.Makes it easier to fantasize being a real pilot.

We are real pilots... we just don't get to ride inside the heli! ;)

I have a TRex-450 with a Fusano red airwolf body and retracts done up as a USCG that is my daily flier. The airwolf ends up being my daily flier because I just fly sport scale with it thus hasn't crashed yet. I also have an MX400/TRex franken-heli set up as pod-and-boom that gets crashed regularly trying to do 3D. Since I don't have the time or funds to keep rebuilding it, it flies much less often than the airwolf.

I have a Dragonus with an Align 500E and it gets flown every day. I am lucky in as much as I have a large warehouse as a studio so plenty of room to fly

Some of us do - but we fly 'em, not ride in 'em. :)

All I go for is the real look all the time, whether fix or rotary wings.

Ive been behind the controls of full size and the RC ones. Its not the same. I knew full size pilots that just couldnt get the knack for the RC ones. They just couldnt handle it. Really, the full size ones are easier to fly than the RC ones.

Hey Darth, :)
Notice that I said I go for the real *look* as opposed to the "pod and boom" look. IMPO the scale look on helis and planks is really important. That's why I'm one of your customers :)))

Best decription I heard of pod & boom was "A Cod Head on a Stick"
