I am trying to make my csm 420 gyro work on a t rex 450. The manual on the gyro needs the gain travel adjustment set at 60% both ways. I can adjust the positive to 60 but the arrow will not go to the negative value so I can't adjust it. I have moved the gain switch (aux 2) to no avail.I know I was badly advised and should have gone with the 401 gyro but would like to give this a try. If anyone can help with advise on the spectrum adjustment or the csm gyro it would be really appreciated

I just did this for someone, I don't have the manual anymore, but from what I remember, the gain should be plugged into gear on the RX and gear on the TX should be gyro, and follow the directions, you can choose between AVCS or HH settings for the three positions of the flight mode switch, HH should allow for a negative setting, I think

When using the gyro menu 50 is 0, 75 would be 50% on one side and 25 is 50% on the other. I dont have a CSM gyro but have used others besides Futaba. All should be pretty much the same. Set the gear channel to gear instead of gyro and use the travel endpoints to do what you are asking. Read the instructions again and check out the videos on gyro adjustment and the videos on the DX7.

Thanks, I will try that. It is very frustrating when everything else works on the heli but I can't get the gyro to function.

I am with you there, gyros always seem to be my achilies heel, 240s are very easy, but for some reason 401s always give me a hard time, I seem to get some tail drift in HH, I didnt know they had videos for the DX7, I will have to check them out.

I have the same problem: switching the gear sw up/down does not switch the gyro mode from HH to Rate!
In the Travel Adjust screen on Gear flicking the switch does not change the pointer to the negative sign, so thus I can't adjust it that way.
I can get into rate mode by setting the norm:0 in F.mode to 1 (on gyro sens screen). To set travel I have to set gear channel to gear, set the numbers and then set gear back to gyro. Pain in the .... :arggg:
From what I have read I should be able to switch between HH and Rate by just flicking the Gear switch.

My gyro is a 401 but that should make no difference.
