I have a non WC2 9Z which I may consider selling if someone would like one.

It's my everyday radio so I'm confident that it's working just fine.

What is a non WC II? Is it the newest one out?

The first 9Z they come out with was called a 9Z, the next one a 9Z WC, then the third was a 9Z WC2 which is what they are currently selling.

The basic differences is that the WC and WC2 ( I forget which one had it first) has a built in program to control a servo controlled neede valve on the WC engines (like the 61WC). They also added another 3 position switch in place where there was a 2 position switch and changed the color of the sticks tips and made them pointier.

Most people don't need the servo controlled needle valve anymore as not many people are using that function. Also, this function is also built into the GV-1 now and since most people are using governors, who needs the radio to do this anyway? ;) What most people didn't know is that the non WC could have done the servo controlled needle valve via the standard 9Z programming, Futaba just made it easier for you by building in a pre-programmed feature for this.

As to the 2 position switch being changed to a 2 position (the 9Z has some 3 position switches already) it's not that big of a deal anyway as you can assign any function to any switch on the radio. I'm told you can also get the 3 position switch added pretty easily, I just haven't ever needed more switch positions than the radio has now.

Those are the differences as I understand them. For more details, see the futaba web site in case I forgot something.

I ended up with a 9C, and I don't use half of the functions in the 9Z so I'm considering turning it loose (or should I say, into some loose cash). I haven't started using the 9C yet, but I'm about to program some of my fleet into the 9C and try it.

I have one I'll consider selling to ya Clintstone. It has only 10hrs on it and has a synthesized module that needs to go with it (case, strap and all). PM or call me if you're interested.
