I have used Tri-Flo in the auto hub bearing for a long time with no ill efffects so far.

First...When you say "grease" I am hoping that you really meant "oil"....you DO NOT want to be using "grease" in the one-bearing on your Auto-hub... :wow2:
a 50/50 mix of ATF transmision fluid and Marvel Mystery Oil works well as does straight "3 in 1" brand oil.
Like Will I have been using Tri-Flo for quite a while but just recently changed back to "3 in 1" oil after hearing some folks saying that the "teflon" in the Tri-Flo can actually gum it up after a period? I had been using "3 in 1" WAY longer than the Tri-Flo anyway...

Ben, I try to do it about once a month I guess...probably more than needed...I have never found it "dry". that probably equates to 35 to 40 flights in between oiling.
That is a good question...be interesting to see how often others oil theirs?

I try to do mine every 50 flights or when I cahnge the mainshaft after crashing which is finally starting to be about every 50 flights. For a while there it was getting rediculous.

IMHO the best lubricants for the Auto Hub is a combo of a high viscosity gun oil and white lithium grease. I have been using this combo for some time now and it's working great. I have well over 35 flights on the hub and it's as smooth as ice.

I had a problem with the one-ways locking up on my R50 and R70. I would pop the one-ways loose but they would lock up again in one or two flights. Called a TT tech guy and he recommeded using ATF (auto transmission fluid). I was skeptical but tried it.
Took the one-way out, cleaned it well with alcohol, dried it out and applied some ATF. It did lock up a time or two more but after that neither of my Rappys have given a problem.

I disagree with the recommendation of not using grease. TT recommends that you use grease and I have been using Tri Flow grease for over 200 flights on my auto hub without a single lockup. I tried using oil and still had issues but when I moved to grease with the same hub, all my problems went away.

I too have been using only grease. No problems at all.
