I have almost run through 8 litres (2.1 gal) and have been using 32:1 - full synthetic. When can I switch to 40:1?
I am on 1 3/8 high and low needles - do these need to be adjusted to?
Thanks

How is it running right now?
Is it smooth, does it have good power?

yes - it seems pretty smooth to me - but this is my first gasser so I don't have any real comparison to make.

You really should have broken it in on organic oil. Lots like the Lawn Boy Ashless oil, but since that's a moot point, after 2 gallons, it should be good and broke in. 1 1/4 to 1 3/8 is where I keep my needles and it's nice and smooth. If that's the case for you, I wouldn't recommend going any leaner. You can bring your oil mixture down at this point if you want to. I run AmsOil Sabre at 3 oz./gallon which comes out to about 42:1 and the cylinder looks better than new since the last time I had the exhaust off. There are guys out there running the sabre as low as 100:1, but that's a little lean for my taste!
Good luck with your gasser. I love mine. It's a definate attention grabber at the field!:smokin:

If the heli and engine are running smooth, you have good power to fly with your rig under it, no tail kicks, no problems, then why change anything?
It does not HURT to run it the way it is, if everything is OK.
IOW why fix something that ain't broke?
