I am currently using the charger that came with the DX7 but the radio seems to loose charge rather quickly.
Came home one day last week and grabbed my stuff and headed to the field and forgot that I hadn't charged my batt's. I checked my radio and it was at 10.8v so I am thinking that's good but when I had finished one tank of fuel the radio only showed 9.9v. Is this normal for about 10 or 12 min time or do I need to get a different charger for the radio?

Thanks,

What was the temp outside? Cold conditions could account for a good part of that voltage drop.

low 50's

That's not really not that cold to kill the pack so fast. I'd suspect a bad cell in the pack rather then the AC adapter.

Do you think it would do any good to completely discharge the batt?

Cycling the battery on a charger that reads milliamps may be helpful in determining whether your battery is bad or not. If your milliamp count is low, try cycling it a few times in a row to stretch the cells in the pack. If it doesn't help, the pack may be toast.

I'm thinking it's one bad cell in the pack, but cycling the pack as mentioned is worth a shot. Fully charge the pack then run it all the way down a few times, (not dead flat, just within working voltage). If the pack still has a short lifetime, it's probably a bad cell in the pack.
