Chopper down from 1000 feet

Raptor #2 got RMI as I was hovering at 1000 feet. Believe it or not the Heli gods was watching because it landed 25 ft from a river in a tree 5 feet from the ground. Damage was set of TT carbon blades,spindel shaft and a fly bar. that is it. It was ready to fly again in 40 minutes but I wasn't because I had to clean my shorts. :badair:

How did you determine your altitude?

I fly real helicopers in the area all the time and there is a 1000 ft tower next to the field
