This is something I picked from a local RC mailing list:

Apparently Spektrum/JR came with firmware version 1.6 for their RX's that improves the brown out down time. Here are videos that demonstrate the behavior with V1.6 and without V1.6

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IUp9pWLCyk <--- 'good'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e50VrHRLJlM <--- 'bad'

There is also some discussion of it here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=817759

Anybody tried to send their RX's for upgrade? How long does it take?

Edit: Spektrum info about the new feature: http://www.spektrumrc.com/Articles/Article.aspx?ArticleID=1756

Horizon quotes 7 - 10 day turnaround. Probably be a bit right now as they get LOTS of Rxes shipped to them. I shipped 12 on Fri. :)

Of course if they would develop and sell a programming cale, they could save themselves some hassles. :)

If send them an AR6100 from a Trex 450, can I slap in an AR6200 and just bind it to the DX7 or do I have to redo the entire Trex settings with the new receiver.

Just slap it in. Rx change should not change any settings.

I sent a bunch in, whenthey come back, I will swap into things I fly more often and send those in.
