I'm new to R/C helis. I just picked up an eSky (http://www.rcuniverse.com/buynow/keywordclick.cfm?bid_id=2119) HB as my first r/c heli (http://www.rcuniverse.com/buynow/keywordclick.cfm?bid_id=4726). I also got the FMS simulation software to go with it (is there better software out there I should look at?).

Just like anything that is RC, when you are beginning......it's been my experience that you are going to crash a few times while you are getting the hang out it. When I'm beginning and just learning to maintain a smooth hover.....what parts are most likely to break if/when I crash it? I was prating hovering in the garage and all went well for the first few minutes.....but then it ended up drifting into a wall and I broke one of the plastic balls off of the rotor head http://image2-0.rcuniverse.com/e1/forum/image/s10.gif So beside the rotor head and training (http://www.rcuniverse.com/buynow/keywordclick.cfm?bid_id=5336) gear set, what other parts should I order that are likely to break in the event of a low level crash? Who has the biggest selection of oem and after market parts for the HB 's?

Thanks for the info guys. I'm looking forward to getting into this challenging sport of RC heli flying.

Also, how is the HB for a beginner heli? Did I make a good choice for a first heli? Any setup tips specific for the HB ?

Thanks again.

Unfortunately you're going to hear bleating from the "You shoulda bought a Trex" crowd, but just ignore that. The little HB is a fun and sturdy birdie-I still fly mine all the time and it's just as much fun now as it was when I first got it.
BP hobbies or Slickzero are my fav's for HB parts.
Stock up on mainshafts and rotor heads-sometimes the main shaft will survive a crash but just looking at the head funny will break it.

Have fun!

Is this the King 2 version. I think it's a great heli for the price and I have a Trex 600e cf. Feathering shafts, flybar and rotor blades almost every crash. Never bent the main.

Thanks for all of the info guys.

I rent ahead and purchased the Clear View simulator. It seems much more realistic than the FMS software that came with the helicopter.

As far as simulators goes.....is the Clear View software supposed to be pretty good?

Feathering shafts, main rotor blades, landing skids, and flybars. Also, better batts.

If it's the HBCP2, here is a great deal.
