Hi there,

i am somehow undecided on headspeed. I did no measure it but i think its a bit high now. Many of the expecienced pilots on the flight field told me to bring them drastically down, because i have plastic bladeholders. They told me to run around 1500 for hoovering and idle1 + 2 about 1800.

I dont know what i should do. Most posts about raptors and stingers are using 1800 on nomal mode allready. Can someone help me?

In addition i made some flights and then some turns and in the hover the tail just "switched/turned" a quater turn onto one side and then the gyro took control again. What could there be the problem? The belt seems to be tight enough. The clutch seems to be a bit high to me it dislodge but does not turn completely free. Any ideas?

Greetings

Max

The plastic gohbee head can safely handle up to 2000 head speed.
1500 is low low for a 50 size heli. The gyro will have a hard time controlling the tail at such a low headspeed.
If you are just getting into forward flight I would run 1700-1800 normal and 1800-1900 idle up if you have carbon or glass blades, if you are running woodies then I would run 1700 normal 1800 in idle up.
Never exceed 1800 with wood blades.

I run my Stinger 50 with the metal head at 1800 in normal, 1950 idle 1, and 2100 in idle 2.

That's the same RPMs I use for my 50... Normal and Idle 1.
