I'm going to build a scale Hughs 500D/E on a trex 450, don't know which yet but the question is the same for both. Does anyone know where I can get scale blades this size. Much of what I've seen people are just using standard blades but that's not what I want. I'm looking for some narrow blades to some what match the scale. Any ideas here or at least a build thread on making my own.

I have the same wish only I would be happy with a set of lifting baldes.
seanh... be careful if you get the blades too thin in the cord
1 you will not get enough lift
2 they will flex too much and could cause you all sorts of grief

Yeah thinner would be better for a 5 blade head, not sure where these came from?
but they look about right size wise?

I can understand the concern regarding flex and lift but let's address both one at a time

flex is an engineering issue that can be resolved quite simply. Maybe not quite so with the average modeler but very simple with a company that already has a business of designing and making heli blades. I could get into the some engineering ideas but it wouldn't amount to much. V-Blade design would solve many issues. of course the rigidity is proportional to the price we are willing to pay.

Lift is not an issue. remember that you are adding 3 extra blades you have 2.5 X the normal mass of air moving if the same size blade is used. Proportionally reduced should give you the same air mass at the same pitch. At worse we would use a slightly higher HS with the narrow blades. Of course this all ties back to engineering.
