Hi all
I need a HH gyro for my HBK2, but I am not sure if I should buy the cheaper E-sky EK2-0704A or it would be worth it, and pay more than 2,5 times as much, and get the "famous" Futaba 401.
Advice please :)

I bought two 401,s for my protech zooms.Since then I have used them on my Belt CP my Trex SE and my Raptor 30 v2.No matter what heli you buy in the future the 401 will be the one thing you will not have to change.Do yourself a favour forget the Esky gyro.Hope this helps.cheers aysbirg

Hi asybirg
In the meantime I have ordered a LogicTech 2100T HH Gyro.
Looks pretty cool to me, and is able to set endpoints for the tail "travel"
(I think that that is a must for an advanced gyro of 2008)
Thanks

I just installed the 2100T on my King II. It's really is a very nice gyro, even with the POS stock esky servo on the tail it holds great. I have a 401 on my 450V2 and think the 2100T is a little more user friendly. You made a good choice.

I think that a first class gyro is the most important piece of kit on a heli. You have made a good choice so may your flights be many and your crashs be few psindrup. cheers aysbirg

currently im using the esky HHgyro and im not sure if its really doin its job coz the tail spins violently in clockwise direction in HH mode.should i change to 401?ive adopted a better radio with it.futaba 2.4ghz.

Do you mean to say that as soon as you lift off, the heli starts piro-ing super fast just slightly above the ground?
If so, then that is probably THE MOST commonly posted about problem on this forum.
This behavior almost always means that the gyro is reversed. I'm not familar with that particular gyro, but most have a reverse switch on them to reverse the direction that the gyro "corrects" when it senses movement.
Try reversing yours, and it will probably solve the problem...

I have had the same problem. Check these things:
1. Make sure the belt was installed correctly, the rotor direction could be opposite due to this
.
2. Make sure that the tail rotor blade grips have been clipped into the ball joints in the proper orientation. They could be opposite.

1. Check belt slippage including grub screw on tail to shaft
2. adjust more blade angle by moving loosening grub screw to shaft that holds the tail blades so as to increase greater angle.
This worked for me on two of my 450's

I would avoid the Esky gyro's completely... Have had several and they don't last and are poor in maintaining tail authority...
The Telebee's are a better bang for the buck, that or the G401B gyro if you have a programmable Tx... Deal Extreme has these for about $23.00 and they are the clone of the Overpriced Futabah GY401's...
Food for thought...
