I have set up my gy401/ s9254 with about 100 on the limit pot and 100% on ATVs. When I move my ruder stick left and right in rate mode, the tail reaches full deflection before my rudder stick is at the far left or right. So there is like a dead spot on the far ends of my rudder stick that doesn't actually do anything. Am I supposed to turn down the ATV on each end until I get full use out of my Tx sticks? Won't this slow my piro rate drastically? Please help me

No don't mess with your end points, just take it flying.

Ok cool thanks!

Is about 97 on the limit pot ok or do I need to turn it up for better resolution... I was thinking all the way to 120 might be a bad thing...

I had this exact same problem, I didn't know what to do. I actually flew it with endpoints on rudder at 50% for a while. Not sure what the dead band is, but it has no effect in HH mode. Mine are back up to 100% now!

the statement i'll attach below is off of readyheli's website under "knowledge base". it says not to have your limit below 100, due to it'll burn out your servo faster.

Last Updated 2/6/2008 Well there is just not much to it, first read the book.

If the pirouette rate is not fast enough turn the limit setting on the gyro 20-30% higher. Yes it will bind the linkage but don't worry, doesn't seem to do it in flight.

Adjust your tail linkage so that your tail servo limit setting (on gyro) is over 100% NOT under. Setting the limits under 100% can reduce the life of the servo. Don't worry about the center setting just fly it in AVC or heading lock mode only.

Turn the gain up until it wags and back it off a little. This mostly occurs around 55-65% gain.

The best performance for this gyro comes when used in conjunction with the Futaba 9254/9257 tail servo.
