Thats the motor I use the 4000kv on my blade cp with a thunderbird 9 and a 401 gyro and its the best combo you can have better than any belt conversions. I can do any 3d I want tic tocs, side tic tocs fast reverse flight ect and the tail never lets go.

Heres a pic of my cp

Well for starters you will be going complete seperates for everything. Seperate receiver, main motor and ESC, tail motor and ESC, Gyro. 3 in 1 will be shelved.

What about a mixer then?

No mixer. the radio does all the mixing, so yes you will need a seperate transmitter with heli programming and at least 6 channels also.

The motor is a 4 pole. If you have a Blade cp pro this mod can be done with the stock TX and it works just fine. I ran it that way for a while till lately It was tranfered to a Dx7 so I could get more pitch out of it 13.5 pos 13.5 neg vs 11pos 11neg (stock radio). You can use the stock tx only if you have a cp pro because the pro has the gyro knob on the top right. You will basically get rid of the 3n1 and replace it with two esc one for the main motor and one for the tail motor and a 401gyro for the tail esc and plug everything to the stock rx.

Thanks for the info. Since I got the DX7 for my Rex 450 I've been thinking that upgrading the CP Pro with a AR6000 Rx would be a good investment. Figured if I could play with the P&T curves I might be able to make my CP into a decent flyer. But the nagging tail motor problem, (Old Smokey!), held me back. Belt conversion - too much$$ and putting two junky motors on the tail in hopes of longer life didn't thrill me ether.
Must be a real kick when ya pull out a CP & other guys are like AHH, big deal, another newbe with a CP. He's probable gonna cras.... Holy Headspeed, What's That:shock:

The battery I normaly use is a 900mah TP or 850 mah fullymax extreme. The lipo in the pis is a 3cell 2200mah t-rex lipo. It will go for 15min of 3d with the t rex lipo. Its a trip to see this thing fly its really fast and makes alot of power it does not bog easily like a stock t rex setup. It feels more like my brothers t-rex 450 with the scorpion motor in it.
