Futaba GY611/9256

LogicTech 6100T/6100G

Are either of these gyros overkill for the Hurri? And, would the GY401 be enough for 3D on a hurri with the short tail..

Most people use GY401/9254. I have done fast backward flying, the 401 seems to hold the tail just fine.

GY611/9256 combo is definitely over kill for this bird, but if you have the money to spend, why not? :)

I saw the LogicTech 6100T/6100G combo at GrandRC for $249. I am contemplating to purchase this combo for my second CFS Hurricane since the cost of the 401/9254 is about the same.

If the maneuvers include piro funnel or any of the travelling pirouettes ( piro loop, travelling piro-flip ) then you have out grown the 401. Until then 401 should serve you fine.

611 and 6100 are very similar in performance with 6100 seems to hold the pirouttes at more constant rate ( just a personal opinion and visibly not noticeable). The only downside to 6100 is the customer service.

you should also consider the spartan DS760 gyro and futuaba BLS251 combo, it's quite simply the best available just now

I also figure since I will be grabbing that trex 700N when it comes out, I might as well get a good gyro.. and swap it over...
