ebay is the only source for cheap A123. All other stores sell them at rip-off prices.

You might be Right
But i need 4 or more packs, if I buy everyone single and send it to europe it will be way to expensive, and you never find someone selling so many packs

check this link out. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?catname=LiFePo4&idCategory=218&ParentCat=85
out of stock now, but $11.50 per cell retail isn't bad. plus you don't have to shell out the cash for a 36v dewalt pack, and then cannabilize it. loose cells are handy!

Good option. Though I paid less than $10 per cell when I got the pack shipped. At $16.50 each before shipping, you're even at alittl over 5 cells, before shipping. So if you just buy the dewalt pack and throw away 4 cells, you're still ahead. Plus he said he needs 40 cells.
DO NOT get Hobby City's LiFePo cells, they are pure junk. This has been documented over at RCG.

Are those LiFePo and the A123's offered by Hobbycity the same thing???
I thought they only come in 2300 mah? (and the newer 1100mah):dontknow:dontknow

They're not the same. A123s are in 2300mah and 1100 mah capacities. They use their a nano-phospate technology that the hobbycity generic LiFePos do not. It makes all the difference!

I don't know if I should PM you so I do not hijack this thread or it's ok to ask you here but...

Would you mind giving me a push a bit farther away from ignorance and elaborate on what do you mean by "...It makes all the difference!"? How? or Why?
Thanks,
Fernando

RCG have a few threads on the hobbycity LiFePo cell testing. The findings were that although they are LiFePo like A123s, they delivered no where near their state capacity. Their ability to deliver power are also overstated. The conclusion was that the hobbycity LiFePo cells weren't nano-phospate. I'd link you but RCG seems to be having trouble right now and everything slowed to a crawl. Maybe later in the day.
Apologies to doeni for hijacking the thread.

sorry, i didn't know the cheaper of the two cells i linked to were junk. i really could not figure out why one cell sold for $16 and the other $11, so i guess now i do. i thought $11 was a good deal, and remembered seeing them on that site so i linked. yes, $16 each cell is a bit steep. check out www.toolking.com (http://www.toolking.com) they have some 36v packs, sometimes "factory reconditioned" sometimes new. i wonder what they do to recon them? i believe the recon'd packs are around $90 and the new ones are $150. still, $150 isn't too bad, being that any other retail store has them for over $200. seems ebay is the cheaper way to go, but if your like me and hate ebay (got burned, severely, ebay and paypal would not help), i'll pay $150 for a new pack. not terrible, better then $280 at home depot lol!

One question: are the 11$ 2300mAh Cells from Hobbycity original Dewalt A123 ?
or own production?

toolking.com is the only place that I've seen, Ebay, just wait till the last 15 seconds. I always see two or three at a time for anywher from 225-275 USD. SInce they are the new rage for rc and the retail store's are charging more than retail you may have to order more than one time, tha's what I had to do.
Wait just found another place. but hurry if there in stock tomorrow I'll get them
