Hi, i have the opertunity to buy a used Logo 20, it comes with the frame,, and 2 sets of spare blades one Carbon,2 canopies, spare tail boom, links, bearings, almost enough for 2 full machines. it apparently needs a new main drive gear, cross head shaft, and main shaft.....

the guy who has it says ill need a motor, esc, servo's, and reciever to finish it off, oh and a gyro..... i really dont need another heli, but am looking for something to tinker with.

that said, i have a few questions, one is, how hard is it to get replacement parts for the logo 20? and, seeing how its 8 year old technology, is it still a good flyer by todays standards, and worth playing with?

what would be a good reccomended power system? could it be converted to nitro?

and are any other makers parts interchangeable with the logo 20?

i have 2 heli's already, a 400 class, and a 450 class, and am i to understand that the Logo 20 would be in the 600 class?

all told the guy said i could have everything for 120$ shipped...... so its not a huge amount of money, im just on the fence with this one, and need some advice/answers to help me decide.....:thinking

Doug,

Been there and done that with a Logo 20 and imop you would be far better spending a few more $'s and getting yourself a more modern design like a Logo 600 3D or Trex600, for example.

If you want to step up to a 600 class heli, your biggest expenses will include blades, motor/esc, servos, gyro, batteries, and battery support, like chargers, balancers, and power supply. These costs will far out-weigh the difference in bare bones kit costs.

If you just want to just step up from your 450 class heli, a 500 class one would be a lot cheaper option since you may be able to use your existing 450 batteries (2 at a time in series) and charger.

Good luck and cheers,

Tom C

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm guessing from your login name that you're in new Zealand? If so I thought I knew all the logos in NZ. My logo 600 vbar and I will be at north shore MAC's fun fly on Sunday. Feel free to come and check it out.

im in Canada....

So, everyone would agree that the Logo 20 with lots of spare parts, and 2 sets blades (one carbon/one wood) for 100$ isn't worth my time?

are there still parts available for this thing? i had a quick look around but didnt have much luck.

fxaeromodels, and espirit still carry parts for the Logo 20. That cost as long as it is all there is certainly cheap for sure.

Hello,

I had a Logo20 for a while. It's a nice flying and stable heli when it comes to hovering and sport flying/smooth 3D. Once you start pushing it you'll start feeling the plastic frame flexing. It was especially obvious when trying to do inverted hurricanes, the heli would try to maneuver out of it on its own. I have a flight video of it here where I was practicing autos in case you are interested:

Yeah, it was kinda loud... hehe. I was only using 8S3P 6000mAh TP packs in that video. A set of 10S packs would be ideal.

If you really want to tinker, you could eventually do as I did and upgrade it to the Logo24 Bionic airframe (there's an upgrade kit available). Then it will be capable of some solid 3D performance. You'll also have to upgrade to the LLS head for faster cyclic response if 3D is your goal. Here's a video of my 10S Bionic:

The performance difference is very noticeable I think. There are now stronger batteries for hotter performance. Good luck and hope this helps with your decision. BTW, that's a very good price he's selling that L20 at.

Seems to me that's a decent price for the blades, let alone the heli, assuming they're in good condition.
