Hi, I'm not sure whether the servo's in my heli can do 6V. Also I don't think that the CSM 180 Gyro an handle 6V. The question is, if I use the Align 6A External BEC with 5.1 Volt Two way step down voltage regulator, can i safely connect this to my heli with LiPo packs even if my servo's and gyro can only handle 4.8 Volt ?
The local hobby shop told me that I need a 6V system, since on the BEC it says that the output voltage is 5.8 Volt. BUT it has a separate connector in the package that has a sticker on it that says 5.1 Volt regulator. Maybe I'm wrong, but to me it looks like I can use that to drop the 5.8 V to 5.1 and use that to run my 4.8 Volt system ?

What I meant was that I want to connect the 5.8V output to the 5.1V regulator and plug that in to my receiver to power the rest of my 4.8V servo's and gyro.

The answer to your question is yes you can.
5.1v is fine on a 4.8v system.

What servos are you running?
if it is the gyro and the rudder servo you are worried about then put the step down between Rx and gyro.
Most servos these days can handle 6V, except for the high speed tail servos.

Don't run your entire system through the 5.1 step down, it isn't enough amps. You can get lower voltage regs if your servo's aren't up to 6v, though most are these days. What servo's??

i'm confused by this advice.
align makes two stepdowns, this one (http://www.align.com.tw/shop/product_info.php?products_id=1408) for stepping down the tail servo only, and this one (http://www.align.com.tw/shop/product_info.php?products_id=1814) specifically for powering the entire electronics grid.
the way to tell them apart is simple: the one with red shrink can be wired for 'gyro servo only' or as shown on the website in schematic 2, 'all electronics'. the one with black shrink is for tail servo only.
