Hey guys I need some advice here on a governor. I am dropping in my ys .61 like the guys over on runryder have done so I think its prettey much a must that I use a gov. I have never used one before so I dont know much about them. Which one should I get?

try using the search funtion. it works wonders!
personally, the aerospire multigov is the best gov. i've used as of yet.

dang...i went with the align gov because i don't do 3d and don't know if i ever will. i heard that the align gov was good enough for regular flight. i am about to install this week...should i change to multigov?

No. There's no need to change. The Align gov works just fine. It's just a little more difficult to set up. And you really need a tach to set the head speeds properly. The multigov just has alot more options and features. And it comes from the factory with all of the settings for the Trex 600N already programmed into it.

i heard that the align gov was made just for the trex and that is was the easiest to setup.....? do i even need a gov if i am just doing hovering and very light forward flight right now?

No. Not really. And with proper throttle curve setup, you don't even need one for 3D. It's just that a gov makes it alot easier......

What he said! It comes down to how they are setup. Govs that use a gear ratio to obtain rpm dont need a tach to verify there target rpm. Makes setup very easy.
