I picked up a used R50v2
It is like new with Titan upgrades.
The servos are a little on the low end though.
DS811 on elev and pitch
Futaba S3151 on ail.
GY401/9254 on tail.
Will these be okay for a while?
I haven't flown a nitro in about eight years, so it will be very mellow circuts for a while.
I also picked up a 7.4v 2000mah lipo and bringing it down across the board.
(MPI 5.3v reg between the RX and power switch)
Is this a big enough battery?
I have virtually the same heli I bought used. V2 updated to Titan. It also had DS 811 servos(3), Gy401/9254 and a DS 821 for the throttle. It had been flown a couple of years when I got it, I flew it 2 gallons worth of fuel. All easy flying with hovering and newbie stuff. Then I changed out the DS 811's and DS 821 for Hitec HS 625 mg servos. Yes these are older models, non digital, but they have metal gears, fairly fast, lots of torque and less than $45 each. I didn't want to run the original servos to the failure point. And at my age(68) I'll never do wild 3d flying. It flys great! Flew just as great with the original servos. The specs are just about the same for the DS811's and the HS 625's with the 625's having a little more torque. The DS 811's and 821 now live in nitro plane and are doing fine!
The lipo and regulator should be fine. I use LI-ION pack with a regulator set to 5.5 volts.

Hi. I'm running DS811 on my R50 too. I'm just doing mild 3d and for now the servos keep up. I'm running Aligns 6A bec with a FP2100RX battery.
The servos are a bit slow so when I get the funds there going to be a change in servos in the bird(faster/stronger).

I just updated to the digital Hitec 5625MG servos.
The torque is very good 111 in-lbs or close at 4.8v I believe. I think the speed was at .18
I get them for $51.00/ea
I read they are a 3 pole and others do center better, but at this price and my level they should work great.

Coop, those 821's are rated for 50 size nitros and Spectrum/JR specifically warns against using them. The issue is vibration not flying style.
