Well, it did hover, so that's good

Several little things I've got to fix up

How did you guys get the motor pins into the ESC connectors?
I can't get them all the way home and they are not very tight
I am considering replacing them to get a more robust solution

Are you guys using a seperate BEC or are you relying on the ESC for power?
I'm not sure if I had a brown out or if I got a glitch - she went down hard at one point
smacked into the ground but no damage
although the tail blade links poped off - they are very easy to pop off

I need to get the weight balanced - she is tail heavy

Just using a little EFlite G90 gyro at present - was ok in the hover and little pitch pumping

Anyway - happy first hover - on with fine tuning

I would suggest replacing the esc connectors and motor wire pins with a 3 pin micro Deans connector kit. Heres a link for reference and part number, http://www.allerc.com/product_info.php?products_id=1308, I got mine at the local hobby shot though. You will need to strip the wires and solder them to the Deans connectors but its pretty easy. If you do this I also suggest that you connect and disconnect the Deans connectors over and over and over and over and over and over again before soldering the wires to them as they can be a very tight fit and a pain in the ass to disconnect if not "broken in" before hand. I broke one of the pins the very first time I tried to plug it in because (like yours) mine wouldn't go in all the way and I used to much force, the pin just snapped. The Deans connectors make things So So So So much easier and worry free. As always make sure you place the heat shrink tub on the wire before soldering and that you solder the wires in a known correct position in relation to the esc wires and where you solder them, otherwise your motor may not work and you would have to de-solder and start over.

As for the weight issue move EVERYTHING YOU CAN UP FRONT wherever you can put it.

That gyro will do the trick but there are obviously better ones. I am using a little Esky HH gyro at the moment, it does the trick and is very light.

I am replacing the original connectors with bullet connectors, similar for the Trex etc.
I am also using cheap gyro wk011 and amazingly, the tail holds rock solid.

I cut the pins off and soldered the wires together. Less resistance.

We are not using a separate BEC

Anyway - happy first hover - on with fine tuning

Congratulations!

No connectors, that's actually a great idea, !
I really like it because it will avoid adding weight

Ok - I will press on without using a seperate BEC

Thanks heaps!

Congrats !!! They sure are fun to fly. I used 1.5 mm bullet connectors soldiered directly to the pins and shrink wrapped. I believe the connectors Gaui uses is the same as what is inside a servo connector.
