Working on my 400 today while trying the "take the main blades off method" To see if the tail is out of balance. All was fine for the first test. On the second test I set the gyro to 67% to see if it would change anything. It worked fine for a minute or so. Unhooked the battery and hooked it back up again. Now the gyro will not center all!!!! The nose of the heli goes left, it also looks like the servo is maxed out. You can take the heli move it back and forth and I am getting no responce from the gyro?? CAN SOMEONE HELP!! Did the servo or gyro go bad? Or did changing the gyro gain screw somthing up?? I set it back to the stock setting and no change or responce from the gyro????

are you initializing the gyro in HH mode? when the esc and gyro are initializing are you letting the heli sit without moving it?

I would try unplugging the battery, centering the tail servo by hand, make sure your transmitter is on and in HH mode, then plugging in the battery and letting the heli sit until the light is on on the gyro and the ESC is armed, and see what happens.

I made the mistake of moving mine around before it was ready and the Gyro didnt work very well afterwards.

make sure your gyro copensation in the tail is compenating in the right direction
watch bobs video
like the fellow below me said let all inisalize in hh mode
then gyro gain down past 50 to check for servo center
the servo arm should be 90 out from servo pointing twards the boom
and the servo slider centered on the shaft
if not use the rod to adj
if your botoming out and binding in either directon once center
and using stock gyr servo move the ball on the servo arm closer to the screw will help
may not be able to totaly get rid of the binding with stock set up but will help
after every thing is ok gain back up to 66-67 and test

Well so far no luck!!! I have tried everything! Got in the blade and dx6i book to make sure everything was right. Still doing the samething!!! The servo still goes in one direction and the throw is maxed so much it is bending the servo horn. There is no movement in the tail when rudder input is applied through DX6i?? Looks like I will be calling Horizon this afternoon!

Do the other seros respond correctly? do you possibly have two switched on the receiver?

what happens when you take the servo horn off, turn on the radio then plug in the battery?

After it centers itself give some rudder input, does it move in the right directions?

also if using the stock gyro move the ball closer to the servo arm screw to help with limits
also do not rev the gyro channel just the rudd channel if u find it moves in wrong direction
if copensation is in the wrong direction then its the switch on the gyro itself.

when in rate mode below 50 on the gain
thats when you find 90 out from servo to install arm and center the slider then check rudd operation
once your happy with that the go back to hh mode
if using stock gyro gain should be around 64-67
i would recomend geting a digital servo for the tail

Had some more time to trouble shoot my issue this morning. Come to find out the e-flight servo had failed!!! I hook another up and it worked fine!! Called Horizon and I have a new one the way! I think I am going to upgrade the servos now. That would have been really bad if it had failed in flight. Going to put the e-flight servos one of my profile planes. So thanks to everone helping out. i guess I should have checked the servo first, But I would not have thought after 10-15 flights with no crashes that a servo would go bad like that!!
