hi guys just changed the e-flight servos for the hm-65mg servos, with a bit of fettling they go in a treat, then to set them up watch the bob white(finless) videos on ccpm setup.
took about an hour to do and what a change these servos centre better and seem to have more control. with the dx6i it is easy to do
thanks finless
all the best from the uk

I also switched over to the HS65MG servos about a month ago. Had my first huge crash over the weekend, turning my B400 into a high speed lawn dart. As far as I can tell, the servos are fine.
The stock servos would have stripped from fright during the downward plunge... nevermind the actual impact!

Did the same here,
The new servo's survived this crash:

Post crash video analysis, I got stuck nose down in a right roll, expecting the right roll to eventually bring the bird back up to a rotor disk level orientation. Yea, not so much, I clearly didn't think my cunning plan all the way thru.. Also, not much time to figure out what's going on :)
Plus side, bird back up in air for $50.. :YeaBaby:

Hey Jim, what blades are those?

Align 325 Carbons (not to be confused with carbon fiber). Great blades, they survived this crash, and the two before it! :)
The blades fit fine as long as you include a couple 1/16" thick washers on each side. (I made mine out of 1/16" thick aluminum flashing. Drill the center hole, scribe the circle and cut it with scissors, hammer flat if needed. (I did cheat on my 2nd pair and turned a hole punch on the lathe.)

Good choice on the blades....I have be using the Align 325 Fiber blades for about 2 months and they have survived a couple of rolls...can't say much for the feathering shaft though. Also, the HiTech mg servos are bulletproof...

Has anyone used the HS65HB Karbonite gear servos? ISTR reading on another site somebody said they'd be fine. (Of course I can't find that post to save my bottom).
My LHS has the HB model in stock. I'd like to replace the stock servos before I try to crash, er, fly my new B400

They would work great also.
Hitec states that Karbonite gears are 4 times stronger than nylon.
On a side note,
Does anyone know if the HS65's draw more amperage than the stock servos?

Speaking of the HS65mg's I upgraded to these on my B400 along with a futaba 9267 tail servo. Bound it to my DX7, and now have a bloody tail wag that I can't get rid of!
I'm still using the stock g110 gyro, but it should be fine. Anyone else having this problem?
Can someone post their setup for me to try.
Did I just highjack this thread?? Sorry if I did!
