I've heard of someone successfully using the tail, and I think I read where someone is using the head. If this works though, it's on my list!

I went to a show in NY today and they had a 400 with an aluminum head and tail as well as carbon tail. The guy there from Horizon Hobby said it should be out in about a month. All this from Eflite.

So, what mods did you have to do to make this head work?

Did you do the TREX head or the Sonix?

What improvements did you see?

I'd be interested to know what it took to make this work. It looks like a gread
addition to an already pretty good heli.

Looks like main shaft is almost too short.

Was it difficult to keep the swash plate from contacting the shaft collar or pushing the washout up too close to the head block?

That MRH looks sweet. I bet its the ultimate flyer, but what about added weight, how much heavier are the two from one another???

I had to cut 1/8th of an inch from the top of the main shaft and then change the anti-rotation lug. All this was done on the Sonix head. Be careful with the pitch set up, a full +11/-11set up can be achieved, but this takes a little time and effort.:YeaBaby:

Hey there GreenBaron, you can use this setup for a full +11/-11 set up, just make sure to use the DX6i's end point adjustments to limit pitch swash travel, as we all know what binding servos can do to heli !!!!!!

I have a complete Trex/CopterX CNC Alum Head and Tail if someone is interested in doing this mod to their Blade 400. You will not be able to use the swash, so you would either need to use the stock Blade400 swash or purchase the correct Alum Swash.

Link to items......

Since you will not be able to use the Mainshafts on the Blade400, I will sell both for $100 shipped if you want them.

Just looking on the HH site forthe boom length and saw this

Main Blade Grips w/Mixing Arms, Silver: Blade 400
$35.99 [MHEB4002BG]
Aluminum Bell Crank, Silver: Blade 400
$18.04 [MHEB4026]
They have no image and show as out of stock, seem to be from Microheli.

Just when I resolved myself to no more modes till I can fly this well, not 3d:arggg:
